Realization

"Haha.." Laurie laughed. [durr..]

"Now that you've discovered the wonderment of fruits, lets try vegetables. How about a carrot?" she asked raising the orange vegetable.

Fang shook her head.
"I'm full" she said, walking across the room

She looked up, and saw a full-body mirror. She froze, and tensed

"Laurie, get ready...there's a girl over here in the room..." she said, not moving her eyes from the reflection

She frowned. "That girl is copying me." she said

Her frowned deepened. So did the girl's

She growled. The girl did the same

"LAURIE!" she yelled, infuriated. "What is the deal with her?"

The impertinent young woman copied Fang.

LAurie laughed to herself.
"Fang..relax..it's just a mirror. You're seeing your reflection."she said walking over there to her and did a few ctions in the mirror as well.

"See?"

Fang gasped

"There's...there's two of you!" she said, awed

She cautiously touched the glass, but the other Laurie wasn't flesh and blood

"So...that's me?" she said, looking hard at the white haired, blue eyed girl in front of her

[her eyes only turn red sometimes, aaaaaaand this is so much fun

"Your reflection, yes. It's not real."she said walking back over to the table and putting away the leftover food under a cloth napkin.

Fang took it in.

"So that's what I look like..." she said, awed.

"Yes.." Laurie said, taking her dagger out and placing it under her pillow.

"Huh. I'd never known. I always thought I looked...you know...more fierce...less human...maybe kinda wolfish" she said, looking at her delicate facial features, and fine bone structure.

Laurie nodded and walked over beside her, looking at her own self.

Seeing that her hair had fallen, she pulled it back up, and straightened out the clips.
"I..I never really noticed how much my face resembles that of a cat.." she said, looking at her facial features.

"Better to have feline beauty than wolfish features." Fang said, moving away from the mirror

[lol she still doesn't know what to think about what she looks like...she'd never seen herself til now, and figured she looked like an ugly monster to the humans]

Laurie rolled her eyes.
"Fang, you look fine. You're much prettier than the locals around here."she said, rememerbing the ugly 'it' that had sold her the mints.

The truth was, Fang was pretty. She had big, slightly slanted eyes that were a pretty shade of blue. Her lips were well-shaped, and she had fine-boned facial structure, and snow-white hair that fell over her shoulder. She was slender and well-muscled.

She, however, had never been around humans, and didn't think she looked like what was supposed to look like. There was no convincing her

"Whatever." she said

Laurie rolled her eyes.
"We'd better get some sleep if we're going to be at work early in the morning." she reminded.

"Oh yeah. The dead wait for no one." Fang said, with a smirk

She made a quick sweep with her eyes
"Yeah I think we're good. Lock 'er up."

Laurie nodded, locked the door, and went to her cot. She resumed the position she had found comfortable earlier, and tried to get some sleep.

Fang stayed up for a long time afterward, but then went to sleep, her dagger right under her pillow.

Fang awoke in the middle of the night, and went to the window. She looked out at the darkened streets, and sight.

After a few minutes, she went back to bed, and tried to ignore the knot that was slowly tighetening in her stomach.

Gale sat in what was the lobby below them, keeping an eye on the staircase.

With a tip of his hat to a drunk walking by, he opened up the newspaper, and continued his watch over them.
