Door nodded. "Which I'm glad for. I don't know how much more of those two I could put up with," she said, indicating Thatch and Alex. "His disapproval and all."

Thatch grinned, a bit at Door's statement, a bit at Aislin.

Alex smiled. "Like a father." he laughed. "...And he's two years my junior. Huh."

Thatch nodded. "Just playing my part." He grinned, then blinked. "Wait... really? You're that much older than me?" He glanced at Door. "He's that much older than you?"

"Two years, Thatch," Door flushed. "Not that much."

Aislin laughed. "Uh-ohhhh!"

"Well, what about you two?" Door shot back defensively.

Thatch glanced at Aislin. "Same age, if I'm not mistaken."

Her plan failed, Door looked to Alex for some assistance. "But--"

Aislkn blinked. "...You thought we were fourteen?"

"Well, n-no, but..." Door shook her head, then sighed. "I give up."

Aislin blinked. "Seriously? You thought..."

She paused, half-frowning. "Huh. Imagine that."

Ariel giggled. "You know Door, you were in diapers while he was potty-trained."

Door picked up on it.
Her face flushed to her ears, and she didn't look at anyone. "I've never had the need to think about that before, but yes, I suppose..."

The twins laughed, oddly in tune. "Awww!"

Alex took another bite of food to avoid speaking.

Thatch grinned at his sister. "Oh, you know we're just joking..."

Door took another bite, chewed methodically, and swallowed before answering. "Tongue."

Aislin flushed, but stuck her tongue out at Door. "What about it?"

"You know exactly what," Door smiled, pleased with herself.

Aislin shrugged, finishing off her plate. "I can't help the fact that Thatch likes the taste of his ankle."

"That, among other things," Door said, just loud enough for everyone to hear.

Thatch reverted back into his loveable, blushing, muttering self. "Mneh."

Aislin smirked haughtily, taking a sip of milk. "You're one to talk, missy."

"How so?"

Aislin shook her head. "Ohhh, no reason." she said innocently. "Don't wanna get you in trouble with big brother."

Door frowned. "No, really. What?"

Thatch raised a brow as well. "What are you getting at?"

Aislin laughed. "I'm not. The only thing I'm getting is under your skin. I don't mean anything. Really."

Thatch shrugged, going back to his plate, but Door hesitated before taking another bite. "Twit," she joked."

Aislin grinned, but chose not to say anything.

Ariel nodded. "That she is."

Tremor glanced from the Twins to his siblings to Alex, smiling to himself, and not saying a whole lot.

"So... Alex," Thatch began, for lack of anything else to do. "What's your story?"

Alex frowned. "My story? Nothing to it, really..."

"For conversation's sake, then," Thatch shrugged.
