I do believe in Spooks; I do, I do, I do believe in Spooks.

"Ghosts, vampires...you name it, I hunt it! Anything out of the norm."

Pen very well fit into that last category without much trouble.

She bit her lip, "And by hunt, I don't mean exterminate...haha, no...I just like to observe."

Catherine folded her hands behind her back, one of her red pigtails hanging over her shoulder.

She stepped forward and gave Pen an innocent look.
"So, you're not gonna bust us for being in here?"

"Nah...can I just ask some questions though?"

"Shoot." Catherine said, biting her lip.

"What are you?" she asked eagerly, "Ghosts, or what? I mean, you're not human."

Pen wrinkled her nose, stepping closer to Catherine to examine her. "Am I right? Are you good or evil?"

"Nope. Not human. We're what you'd call...Fates. you understand?" Ev said.

"I'm Evil." Catherine said with an angelic smile on her face.

'Heeere we go...' Ev thought.

Pen grinned confidently, "Great!"

She grabbed a quill and blank, leather-bound book and began to scribble away. "Continue."

"Well, she doen't exactly mean 'Evil'," Ev started," There are three of us. She, Catherine, has a negative influence on things around her." she said, sticking a thumb at her sister.

"But Evelynn," Catherine continued," has a more positive influence."

"In a way, we balance each other out. As long as we're together, most everything stays in check. But if something happens to us to be separated..." Ev trailed off.

Catherine picked up and dropped an antique vase, smiling creepily at Pen. It shattered to the floor, it's pieces spreading everywhere, symbolizing what could happen to their world if the two were separated.

Pen nodded, oddly calm about the whole affair. "Interesting....hmmm....And who is the third, and how does she influence things?"

"Oh, Aphrodite? She influences Love and stuff. Pretty pointless. She's the neutron in the bunch." Ev said, shaking some of the glass off her shoe.

"What happens if you two disappear, and she doesn't, or vice-versa?"

Lilith frowned. No one wanted to play with her...

"If we two disappear? Well, whatever would happen, I doubt it'd be a bucket of posies. The people of Hyrule would be living in some weird fairytale Love story." Ev said quietly.

"But if Addy disappeared? Nothing big. People can fall in love on their own." Catherine said with a shrug, kicking some of the glass underneath the bed.

"Ah, I see...well then, how can the three of you be equally situated?"

"The only ones needed together for balance is Cathy and me." the elder sibling said, watching the younger slip out into the hallway and go into another room.

"Is that what you mean?" she asked, returning her attention to Pen.

"Ohhh, I was under the assumption that all balances were equal."

Lilith smoother her hair and dress, and touched her necklace. She was dressed for a beautiful wedding.

All that was missing was the groom.

"In the paranormal world, you can never make assumptions." Ev said, taking a seat on the bed.

Cathy walked into another room.
The room Lilith was in, to be a bit more specific.

The door shut and latched behind her.

Lilith looked up from her seat at the vanity.
"...It's bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the wedding...have you seen Lawrence?"

Pen nodded, penning it down (*hahasnort*). "I suppose you're right...so, she's basically the 'heart' of the Fates...emotions and whatnot. You two are the good and bad balances?"

"Exactly. And what was your name? I don't believe I caught it." Ev asked.

Catherine stood in front of the door with a blank stare on her face.
"Who?" she asked quietly.

"Where are all my guests?" Lilith said tenderly, "I wanted so much to share my joy..."

The young woman stood, revealing a full-length wedding gown with a peculiar red stain where the heart of the girl should be.

"Pen."

"Who are you?" Catherine stepped forward, though most girls her age would have been scared to death to even be in the room.

She could handle these things though. She'd seen worse before in her life. Trust me.

"Nice to meet you Pen," She stuck her hand out," So do you do things like this often? Must get pretty exciting. All we ever really do is mosey around and tell people we're sorry for whatever happened. Cause, y'know, bad things occur quite a bit when Cathy's around." she rambled.

"This is my life." Pen said, shaking her hand, "Paranormal things fascinate me."

"I'm lonely..." Lilith replied.

"This is my life as well. Fascination or no." she shrugged.

"Its ineresting, these old homes. So much history can be found in them. But you have to look closely." she said, tracing her fingers over the dusty quilt on the bed.

"I see...me too. But, pray tell, what is your name?" she asked, stepping closer to her.

Lilith took a step back, growing fainter by the second.

"L-..." she hesitated.. Then, unsure of herself, disappeared.

Pen grinned. "Which is what I'm doing. Now, I have reason to believe there are ghosts in this establishment..."

"No! No! Please, come back!" she ran for the figure, but only fell to the floor in disappointment.

Evelynn's eyes met Pen's once she heard the thud.
"Did you hear that?"

Pen cocked an eyebrow. "Yeah. Didn't sound too good."
