Changelings in the City

Tala, Laurie, and Kayu stood outside Castle Town as the drawbridge lowered. Today was the day they'd find more of their kind

"so u think we will find others" kayu asked sheathing his katana

Laurie walked beside Tala and Kayu across the drawbridge.
"Where do we start?" she asked once they crossed it.

'and how wil we go about finding others"

Tala sighed.

"I'm working on that part. Maybe we should look for animals first. It's said you can tell a changeling because they have human like eyes."

"my eyes arent very humanly they are large and gold"

'But they don't look like a dumb animal's eyes, I mean."

LAurie nodded and looked over at a falcon and pointed to it.
"See, that's not one. Look at the ways it's eyes are shaped and such."

"i know...i have sexy eyes"

"Right, Laurie."

Tala rolled her eyes at Kayu.

"hey i was jsut kiddin learn to joke gah" kayu said and began to walk in the city

Tala shook her head.

"Joking can get you killed."

"Whatever helps you get to sleep at night." she fakely.

Tala sighed once again and continued to lead them through the streets

"Alright, so, let's stick together."

LAurie nodded, but quickly saw a general sore and went inside.

Distracted, she forgot to tell Tala where she was going.

'ok and if that is the price of being a jokester then im takin my chances ne way'

Tala turned her head and then looked back.

"Crap. Laurie's gone." she said, scanning the crowd. She saw her disappear into a shop and followed her.

"ugh...that kind of stuff can get u killed to" kayu said and foloed after her

Laurie searched around in the shop, but looked up into the crowded street to see that Tala and Kayu had dissapeared.

"..Crap.." she said then ducked into another aisle, thinking they may have gone in after her.

"I know." she said, walking in "What was she thinking."

She'd lost sight of Laurie

Laurie looked around in all the products, but couldn't find them anywhere.

She went to the front entrance, but still did not see them anywhere.

Tala dragged Kayu into the street.
"Maybe she went back to the front of town."

Laurie looked around, then went into the next shack, being a hardware place.

"Where could they have gone?" she wondered, then stood still for a moment.

She ducked into the sword shop across the road.

"maybe" then kayu followed after her

Tala would have given anything to let out her howl just then, so Laurie could find them, but she couldn't. She couldn't even use her other powers.

"What're we gonna do? This is a big ol' place."
