Up to No Good

Ryoushi was just minding his own business... Just stealing another persons money is all. And then he gets thrown into Jail and awaits his trial.

"Man.. How do i get into these messes...." he said sitting in his cold, dank cell.

"Hey, you keep quiet in there, punk," rotorted a budget gaurdsman, dumb as a doorknob, but strong like a bull.

Ryoushi rolled his eyes, and with a hard thump layed out on the cot, "Jesus, this is a horrible bed."

"Hehehe... better start gettin' use to it, buddy," called the other guard.

In the throne room, a pale and shaken Princess Zelda sat in the throw that had been occupied by her father for as long as she could remember.

It was time to accept it: this is what she was born to do. She'd been wrong about everything. Even Kiara had pointed it out to her.

She hadn't said much about it to her friends...just told them they were free to go and that she apologized for everything. None of them harbored any malice, but Link had seemed a little unsettled.

Zelda sighed. She hadn't seen him since the funeral.

Rigid, unmoving, and lost in thought, the princess stared ahead, pale as a ghost.

"Alright, punk, it's trial time," the first guard ordered, shoving Ryoushi through the doorway, and into the throne room.

As he entered, or rather shoved into, the room, there was near no one in the room besides a girl sitting in the throne, with about twelve other counselors bordering the throne.

Zelda, despite having youthful, elvish features, had a haggard and drawn look about her, like someone who had seen far too much for her age.

She rose. "State the charges."

"Ryoushi.. Is charged for thievery, and second degree murder" one of the guards announced.

"I WAS FRAMED!" Ryoushi yelled out losing his composure for a moment.

Zelda ignored his outburst, addressing him. "If you do not have someone to represent you, I can appoint someone to you."

Ryoushi extended his hand, and a fox mask appeared in it.

"I will represent myself," he answered as he placed the mask on.

However, when it touched his flesh, he suddenly disappeared, and a fox stood in his place.

"Very well. Let the trial commence. Who does Ryoushi have to contend with?"

A tall thin man rose, "My client, Sawyer Jenkins." he spoke clearly, referring to a young lady sitting with her arms crossed.

[[Uh, yeah..Dunno really whats going on, so..whatever. lol]]

Zelda nodded. "Proceed."

Ryoushi rolled his eyes, he didn't even recognize this 'client' of his.

"I call the first witness to the stand, Bob Smith." and in came a raggedy looking old geyser.

"Mr. Smith. Can you tell us exactly what you saw?" the lawyer asked.

Bob scratched his balding head for a moment, before answering with," Well..I saw this here guy taking money outta this here lady's bag. And, it didn't take me long to put 1 and 1 together to get 4. I could tell right quicklike he was stealin'." he said with vivid expressions.

[ROFL]

Zelda blinked. "Continue."

Again he rolled his eyes, the fox-form that is. He didn't lay a hand on this person at all. All he could remember is being awoken, and arrested, in some dark house, daggers in hand, and blood stains on his face.

He didn't remember any stealing or anything.

"Well, ran all the way down the block, lookin' fer a policey-man. I just kept runnin' and runnin' and runnin' and runnin', and got I really worn flat out, and someone of my stature just ain't fittin to be running around all day." he said rubbing his large potbelly," but luckily enough, there was a guard in the bakery I'd gone into buy a cake. So I tolded him aaaaall about it, and he ran aaaaaall the way down to where that lady right there was bein' thieved."

"Mr. Smith, is this all you know of?" the lawyer asked.

"Yessir, every bit of it."

"Thank you." he said, ushering the man away.

Zelda nodded. "Any further witnesses?"

"Whoa, whoa..." Ryoushi stated, "Where is my cross-examination.... what kind of court is this.. I don't even get to defend myself?"

"Of course you do. But I'd like to see a witness that's not based purely on hearsay. As it is, you have nothing to worry about defending so far. Go ahead, though. Tell me your version."

"Well, all i can remember is waking up in a dark place and then being arrested on the spot, ending with me being here today." Ryoushi told.

"I also have a few question for Mr. Smith... Who exactly did you see again? and point this time please," he continued.

"It was you." he siad, pointing directly at Ryoushi," That was stealin' for that young miss over there." he said, pointing back at Sawyer.

She had a stony silence about her, like one who'd seen far too much for her age.

"I see... So.. what you are saying, is that a fox wandered up to this girl, and stole items off her person *paces back and forth*," Ryoushi reasoned, seeing that he had his fox mask on and to everyone in the court, he looked like a fox.

[woot lol]

"Well, no. It was a person." Bob mumbled.

[Hah. Forgot about that. Smart.]

"Would you please describe said person for the court?" Ryoushi continued.

"Well. He had white, funky lookin' hair. It kinda..poked out and stuff. He was pretty tall, and uh..thin. I really don't remember a lot else. I was too hungry." he said, the lawyer rolling his eyes.

Curses... Wait... my hair isn't that funky looking the fox made a some what saddened face, but this was quickly changed to a more passive look.

"Alright.. No further questions," Ryoushi concluded.
