Apocalypse Here...

Airas stumbled over Scy again, scrambling into Zelda's arms.

"OH MY FARORE!" she yelped, "SHE'S...A PERSON!"

The princess checked for hearing loss. "Urh...yeah..."

Link looked at Jazza, opened his mouth to say something, but gave up. It had been too much of a day.

Scy rubbed Airas's foot mark off of her face and blinked at Jazza. "Are you like Fell?"

"Eh?" The changeling swivled her head and sneered. "Who?"

"Fell." Airas said, "She turns into a cat. A biiiiig kitty."

Jazz snarled in her throat. "Claws? Wings? Scales?" She shook her head, beginning to climb out of the wagon. "If'n ye're with tha' thing, Ah wan' nothin' to do with ye."

Airas was frightened, "But...Fell isn't here anymore..." she said sadly, "She left..."

Alena was fascinated.
She'd never been this close to one of them before...
"You're a Changeling, aren't you?" she asked Jazza.

"A whaa'?" Keahi asked bewildered.

"A changeling," Alena explained," is a rare race of people who can transform into an animal. There's only a few of them, and, like Gerudo, they try to stay away from Castle Town because they're practically outcasts as well."

"I just never thought I'd get to see one. They're quite interesting."

"Interestin'." Jazz shook her head, mildly disgusted. "Well, now, here's ye big chance! Prod an' poke th' funny dog, why don'cha?"

Airas proceeded to do so.

She lifted her lip in a feral snarl. "Sarcasm isn't yer high spot, is it, lassie..."

Scy narowed her eyes. "You didn't have to tag along. No one invited you. You don't have to stay, if we bother you that much."

Airas drew back, misunderstanding completely.

"B-but you said...?"

"Nevermin'." She rolled her eyes and scooted out of her reach. "Anyway...Ah'm guessin' that ye funny bloody friend was lookin' fer the big furry scaly one, yeh?"

"Umm...yeh?" Airas agreed.

"Heh." Jazz smiled to herself. "An' she knows that once she gets within' a spittin' distance of tha' house, the scaly one'll rip her to bits, yeh?"

Scy just blinked. How could anyone be so...heartless about this?

"I believe you've got the gist of it." Alena nodded.

"M-hm...yeh. And ye think tha' she'll come ou' o' tha' place in one piece?" She shook her head. "I doub' tha'll happen."

Airas's eyes grew hard like dark emeralds.

"Kadomi will make it." she said lowly, surprising even herself, "She will. I know it."

Jazz shrugged. "Don' come cryin' ta me, then..." She began to recline against the side of teh wagon, but found that someone was already occupying that space. "Eh? Who's this, then?"

Scy blinked at Iko's still form. "Dead weight."

Airas followed their gaze to Iko. "...What are we going to do with her, really?"

Scy glanced from Jazz to Iko, and back to Jazz. "Do you want her?"

"Scy!?"

"What? I was just asking..." She grinned at Tara sheepishly.

Airas stifled a giggle, "Do we really just intend to dispose of her? Where does she come from? What is she?"

Zelda smiled gently. "One question at a time, Air."

Tara peered distastefully at Iko as she walked beside the wagon. "She's Chibi, as I've said. The manifestation of evil itself."

"Oh, I know, but I mean, what is she...as in...well, is she a witch? Or...a moblin?"

Airas wiggled her fingers and made a terrible face.

"No idea. But she's just as indesirable," Tara mutterd dryly.

Airas shrugged. "I guess we could dump her in the desert."

Scy grinned. "Sounds good! Let's see what the Leever do to her..." Her grin faltered as Tara gased reprovingly at her.

"I want her gone, but I don't want her killed...at least, most of me does..."
