Apocalypse Here...

Link wanted to shrink away to nothing, "Oh Nayru..." he swored, "Give me strength."

Zelda looked up at the figure with tormented eyes...

To see Link...

'What?!' she thought

So, now it gets interesting...
"And, dearest, isn't that...It's Zelda!!"

[Haha yep ;D Just mixin' things up. It's what I do.]

The King stood, rushing toward the hooded girl. He pulled away the cloak...

And stared right into Zelda's frightened eyes...

It begins, Iko thought gleefully. I'm Rosaline, Link, and the Princess all at once!! But when dearest Zelda sees double, she'll think she's going mad...and then it's a piece of cake from then on...

"Zelda!" She cried, rushing over and embracing her 'daughter'.

Zelda tried to pull away, "...Who are you...?" she whispered...

Link looked at the two Zelda's in confusion.

Until he was boxed across the face by the King.

[...Hey, Zelda will start to see her as Rosaline once she knows who the king thinks it is...Link too. He rememberd the queen.]

Iko stepped to the King's side, her face 'loving' as she stared at Zelda. "You don't remember me, dearest heart?"

Link fell to the ground, dazed, the King glaring at him venemously.

Zelda blinked, and there before her, stood her long-dead mother.

"...Mother...?" she said fearfully

Iko smiled, nodding. "Yes, Zelda, it's me."

The other Zelda transformed before Link's very eyes. It was Rosaline...he remembered her from years ago...

Zelda looked at her mother with unbelief, before collapsing into a hug.

Link merely sat on the ground, not sure of what to make of anything.

Iko accepted Zelda's hug, smiling smugly at Link over her shoulder. "And it's...nice...to see you again, Link..."

Link wanted to shrink away to nothing...he did NOT like the way the queen was looking at him...and the King...eep!

"N-nice to-to see you a-again, Y-Your Highness..." he stammered, scrambling up off of the floor awkwardly and making a trembling bow.

The King grimaced, "I, for one, am not as overjoyed to see you, you common vagabond."

Link set his jaw, biting his tongue to keep from saying something he'd regret...

"Now, now, love, you can't blame him for returning our dearest in one piece..."

[ROFL! I know! I couldn't resist it!]

The King was not so easily swayed, "I'm willing to bet my throne it was he who stole her away in the first place."

The reingning monarch grabbed the frightened youth by his tunic-collar and lifted him a good two inches off the ground.

"...If you so much as touched my Zelda, I swear to Nayru I'll have your head mounted on my wall."

Link gulped, "Y-yes sir..." he said hoarsely. "I-I mean no sir!" he said, his voice growing squeaky, "I would never..."

Iko turned once again to Zelda. "Where in Hyrule have you been, dearest?"

Zelda wanted to pull away.

"...I've been...around...." she said, face ashen, "...I could ask you the same question."

The King glared at Link suspiciously and dropped him on the cold marble floor.

"Oh...me?" Time for quick thinking...
"I've been terribly sick, darling...so I sent myself off to get well...I couldn't risk infecting you all with my sickness...I hope you'll forgive me..."

Zelda nodded slowly, "...I...forgive you."

Link tried to sneak off.

Negatory.

"We have no more need of you. Guards? Take him away."

Zelda broke free from her mother and ran to Link, standing in front of him, "You can't do that." she said, eyes wide.

The king grabbed Zelda's arm. "I can, and I have."

Link gave Zelda one last forlorn look before they dragged him off to the dungeon.

Well, that's one problem down, Iko thought to herself before linking arms with Zelda and the King. "Now isn't this better?It'll be just like old times..."

[-cries for Linkers-]

Zelda watched Link leave, looked at her mother and father, and nodded. "Yes..." she said, dismally, "Just like old times..."

Iko hugged them both tight as her evil little mind worked through some kinks.
How to do it? she worried. How to ruin them both?

Zelda allowed her mother to hold her close, but made no effort to return the embrace.

Inside, she felt something withering...here she was, back in her cage...locked away. A little bird, forced to sing. She would be stuck in this giant prison...

And this time, the bars weren't budging.

Iko pulled back to look Zelda in the face. "Tell me dearest, what has happened since I've been gone?"
