Way to go, Kadomi

Kadomi sighed as the nurse wrapped the burn on her hand.

"How exactly did you manage this...?" the nurse said tentatively

"Chem. Lab." Kadomi said shortly, trying not to wince. "Other kid mixed the wrong stuff and it bubbled over and got on my arm...burned like fire..." she said shortly, biting her tongue to keep from crying out.

Finally, she stood, and, with pride in her step, made her way out of the Nurse's.

"Thanks, Nurse Sharon." she said, careful not to hit her arm on the glass door.

Sedridor ran into Kadomi.

"Hey hows yr arm?"

Kadomi shrugged.

"Nothing's wrong with it..." she said, carefully evading what had really happened to it...

"Then whats that bandage on your arm for?" he asked.

"It's....fashion." she said quickly. "Duh."

Leru walked down the hallway noticing Kadomi.

"Holy crap! You didn't set somebody on fire again, did you?! I thought we had an agreement!"

"Fashion......right."Sedridor said as he walke dpast her looking back at her."

"...No...not 'somebody'." she said. "Just me this time."

Laurie walked down the hall, stuffing her books into her locker.
"Stuuid thing won't shut.." she said, trying to slam he door back.

"Oh.... okay.... just making sure. You would have to owe me 5 bucks if you did!"

"How'd you do it, anyway?" He asked poking the red, puffy wound.

Sedridor walked to his locker and put all his books in it and shut it just fine.

"GAH! DON'T TOUCH IT!" she said, flailing awkwardly, and rather comically, and cradling her hurt arm in the crook of her good one.

She searched her brain for an answer. She couldn't lie to Leru; he was one of her very best friends. But...the truth was rather...embarrasing.

"Uhhhmmm..."

Laurie eyed him with an evil glare.
"Forget this.." she said, dropping the books on the floor.

She walked past Kadomi slowly.
"What the..." she said quietly to herself.

"I don't care if it's embarassing. I do embarrassing things all the time, like just the other day, I had some spicy curry bread and when I went to use the bathroom, and----"

"Please don't finish that statement.." Laurie interrupted.

Kadomi clapped her hand over his mouth.

"You have such a way with words, but I'd rather not hear it." she said drily

"The truth is...I'll kill you if you repeat it..." she said threateningly

Leru's ears perked up and waited with anticipation....

"Ok, so, I was parking my motorcycle, and I dropped my books, so I leaned down to pick them up...and I got my skin sizzled off on the pipes."

She grit her teeth
"I should've been paying more attention. It's incredibly embarrassing."

Laurie stepped back, feeling out of the group, like she'd always felt when she'd moved to new school.

She kept her bag close to her and watched the people laugh and joke.

"Aw c'mon! That's nothing to be embarrassed about!" He said trying to cheer her up.

I actually have a huge problem, myself....

"Yeah it is! When you should know better...which I do.."

She looked at him
"What's your problem?" she asked, carefully hoisring up her bag on her shoulder

"You know the essay we were supposed to turn in today?! It flew out of my book bag! I actually did my work this time! I even applied myself! And you know how our history teacher gets...."

Kadomi bit her lip

"Well, that's crap..." she said

"Where'd it fly out...?" she said "We can look for it. Or you could try to redo it. Or something." she said, trying her best to be helpful

She glanced over and gave a small wave to Laurie

Laurie walked off the scene and bumped into Saraia.

Saraia walked up into the midst of Kadomi and Leru.
"What're we talkin' 'bout?" she asked, spitting a piece of gum into the trash bin near her.

Sedridor just walked up to the group and stood listening.
