The Gathering

Zelda sat in her chambers, head in her hands. She sighed.

"So it is true." she murmured. "It is time...time to assemble the Sages...to mend the seal before it breaks...before...before..." she fought off tears. "In Nayru's name, I hope it doesn't come to that."

She strode to the window, and looked out over Hyrule.
"He thinks himself great...but he's a pawn...that's all he is...a pawn..."

With another shuddering sigh, she wrapped her cloak tighter around herself. It was all too hard to belive...she felt numb. And yet she couldn't deny the glowing Triforce on the back of her left hand.

She turned, with resolve on her face. "I will scour the whole of Hyrule to find them. They DO exist. I know it."

Zelda strode to her closet, and rummaged around. She removed the dingiest dress she could find. It had a pale purple, ankle-length skirt with a white top with loose-fitting sleeves and form-fitting, black corset over it. Smiling, she took all ov her jewelry off, putting plain studs wear her fancy earrings had been, so the holes wouldn't grow in. She washed her face, and brushed her hair so it was long and flowing. Glancing into the mirror, she had an idea

Summoning magic from the core of her being, she spoke enchanted words. Instantly, her red hair changed into a wavy, slightly shorter, dark brown. Her skin tone turned a little darker, as if she'd been in the sun for much of her life. Her eyes, once of the clearest blue, were now rich, forest green. Examining herself with a nod, Zelda gathered what few personal belongings she would need.

She took her bedsheets and tied them together, fastened one end to the bed, and threw it out the window. Zelda smiled to herself as she shimmied down the make-shift rope. She'd always wanted to go on an adventure.

She jumped off, and ran down the street, ducking into the market place before the guards found she'd gone. She began to think...she'd need a fake name. Olette. It was the first name that popped into her mind, and she pounced on it.

With a smirk, 'Olette' strode down the dirt paths of Castle Town, determined to find the Sages, even if she had to go to the farthest corners of Hyrule.

It was dusk when they found she'd gone. The guards panicked, and sent out search parties for the princess. Warnings were sent out, but no one could find her. Link caught wind of her disappearance, and, fraught with worry, commenced searching for the girl he secretly adored. In his heart of hearts, he had the childish wish that if he saved her, she'd fall for him. He blushed furiously at himself, and continued to search.

Zelda's advisors handled the political matters in her absence, all desperately worried and sick to their stomachs as they pictured all manner of horrible things that might have befallen their beloved princess.

Three days passed, and no sign of Zelda was reported.

(Hey guys, please no one find out that 'Olette' is Zelda. Unless she tells your character, that is)

Alena stood at the street corner waiting to cross the road.
"If only I coud help find Zelda, then people would know who I am. But, alas, I could never find her in all this destress." she thought to ehrself while looking both ways.

ONce she got across the road, she continued to walk on in no absolute direction.

She had gooten seven strodes in, when she ran into a Hylian girl with short brunette hair and emerald green eyes.
"I'm very sorry" she apologized to the young lady.
(meaning Olette, lol)

Olette smiled.

"Not to worry!" she said happily. "you did me no harm. I am simply looking for some people is all."

Alena smiled brishing herself off.
"Oh, well if you need any help, I'd be glad to assist." she said with an offereing smile.

Olette's green eyes sparked with wisdom.
"That would be wonderful..." she said, smiling.

Alena smiled and pulled her auburn hair to her side.
"So, who are you specifically looking for?" she asked stroking her thick wavy hair.

Olette smiled knowingly.

"Quite a few people..." she said faintly.

As she stepped toward Alena, she could feel her Triforce grow warm, even though it was concealed beneath her shirt.

"I believe you are one of them."

Alena stopped in her tracks.
"Me? You're searching for a small simpleton girl like me? But, why? What for?"

Olette smiled at Alena, and grabbed her hand. Olette's hand glowed, and for a split second, she appeared as Zelda to only Alena.

"Because...you are one of the chosen."

Alena's eyes grew wide.
"...Zelda..." she whispered.

Alena looked at her own hand and for a second, her hand glowed as well.
"What does this mean? The only thing I can think of is the ancient Sages that used to be in Hyrule. But that was centuries ago. I should know, I'm practically a walking history of Hyrule."

Alena's eyes grew wide at the thought of her being a sage.
"Rauru..." she said as she thought long and hard about the sage.

She and Rauru were very similar. They both knew much about Hyrule, they were wise, strong-willed, and calm in the face of danger.

Alena blinked several times and didn't speak a word for quite a few minutes.
"So, you think I'm a sage?"

"I know it." Zelda whispered.

"You are Rauru's descendent. The Sage of Light!"

Alena stumbled a few stepd back and slid down a wall of a building.
"But I...I mean I couldn't be...I'm just...."

Alena thought for a few moment before ushering the next few words.
" 'Alena: The Light Sage', never thought of that nickname before." she said as she chuckled to herself.

'Olette' smiled warmly.

"Can you come with me to find the other Sages?" she said, "We need you. The fate of the world hangs in the balance."

"You'll make a great Light Sage."

Alena shrugged.
"I suppose so." she said pushing herself up against the wal and continuing to walk with 'Olette'.

Olette nodded and placed her hands on her hips.
"So, what Sage to we go after, next?"

Alena bit her lip.
"Well lets see, there's the Light Sage: me, the Fire Sage, the Water Sage, the Shadow Sage, the Spirit Sage, and the Forest Sage. And of course, you, the Wisdom Sage. Do you know who any of them are, besides you and me?" she asked.

"I have a few ideas. Let's go for the Spirit Sage next." she said, smiling. "It'll be difficult. But I have an idaa."

Alena nodded.
"Sounds good." she said.

As they walked, a question popped up in Alena's mind.
"Isn't the Spirit Sage a Gerudo?"

Olette smirked.

"THAT'S the hard part."

"Probably Kadomi, their leader. But she doesn't like Hylians very well, so, I'll have to disguise us..." Olette said.

Alena raised her eyebrow.
"As a Gerudo? But, how?"

Olette smiled.
"i'll show you when we get there."

Alena followed, knowing full well she could trust Zelda.
"Olette, what will we do once we have gathered all the Sages?"

Zelda, (aka Olette) shrugged.

"We'll find out, won't we?"

Alena shrugged and walked on with Zelda.

Suddenly, Alena had this strange feeloiing circling
'round in her head. SHe clasped her hands on her head and knelt on her knees. She had a distressing look on her face: her eyes squinted, teeth clenched.
