"Yeah..I agree, but that's what they like. So, you'll help me with with this stuff then?" she asked.

Fang nodded.

"Ok..." she said, sorry to see her beloved tree go

"Here," she said taking the planting pot out," Fill this up with dirt about 1/4 of the way full, please." she said handing it to her.

She replaced the rats with some mints in a bowl.

Fang scooped dirt off the floor and threw it into the pot

She also snuck a rat and ate it whole.

Laurie took out the fern and placed it into the pot.
"Now go fill it up to about here." she said putting her finger near the top of the pot.

She took out the kit for the desk and nailed a few boards together.
"Meh.." she said looking at the half of the work she'd done.

Fang put the rest of the dirt in the pot

Then, she began to help build the desk. Though the tools were foreign to her, she managed to fashion a sturdy start, and even used to claws to engrave patters onto it.

Laurie continued her work with the desk, smiling at Tala's carving into it. They were beautiful, full of life and creativity.

Fang's tongue poked gently out of the corner of her mouth, as the patterns got more intricate. She concentrated hard, as a piece of hair fell in front of her eyes.

kayu stood and watched "hey ill brb i got some spare wood and stuff at the house gonna make somethin real fast"

Laurie had finished off the desk, and left the rest of the finishings to Fang.

She placed the fern in the corner of the room, and sweeped the floors.

After another half out of being in a artisic trance, Fang was done.

She admired her work: Carvings of animals, leaping, attacking, sleeping.

Living

kayu returned with a bench that he sat in the graveyard and a lil chair he made for the desk "its just a lil wooden chair not to unique yall can add stuff if yall want its pretty blank" he said skooting over the chair to them

Fang eyed it hungrily, her fingers itching.

"Thanks." she said

Laurie smiled at their teamwork, mostly at the intriquite designs Fang had completed.

"Wow..Fang...that's beautiful.." she siad looking it over, as if it told it's own story.

Laurie pushed it back slighty, and straightened it out.

"Lets take this out to the shed, maybe you can you it for your job." she suggested, referring to the worn out table.

Fang nodded

"Thanks" she said, smiling ever-so-faintly

Laurie pulled the table out to the shack and placed in a corner.
"I think it'll leave you some room to move about, you think?" she asked, hands placed on her hips.

Fang nodded.

"Yeah. Eventually, I'll get a stone one. They're easier to clean."

"Ok," she said, going back into their office.

She wiped off the stool and took a seat.
"This'll do nicely." she siad placing her hands on the desk.

Fang yawned

"I'm gonna need some sharp objects...I doubt they'll want me using claws or my sword. And something to clean. If humans are as nit-picky as what you say, they won't want their dead opened up on a dirty table."

"Don't see why it'd matter, they're all just gonna rot in the ground anyway.." she mumbled

"Yeah..you're probably right." she said leaning on the desk.

Fang sighed

"It'll be hard not to eat the insides I take out, but whatever." she said

She only knew about embalming from stories she'd heard from other changelings about the strange humans taking out the insides of their dead and stickin them in the ground

Laurie cocked an eyebrow.
"I'm sure you can manage."

"Yeah, well, since I'm alone in there, I can probably get away with eating them." she said with a smile

Laurie laughed and shook her head.
"Ok, but be careful about it."

"Yeah...because I could really hurt myself by eating raw meat." she said with a roll of her eyes
